Recruitment of 4700 Police Officers in 2015 greeted with enthusiasm by youths in Boyo

Cameroon will in 2015 through the General Delegation of National Security recruit some 4700 young Cameroonians into various grades and specialties of the Police corps. The information that was made public in Yaounde on the 9th of December 2014 by the Delegate General for National Security Martin MbargaNguele has been welcomed by youths in Boyo, most of whom have been facing the serious problem of unemployment after graduating from school. They see this as an opportunity for them to pick up a job and make ends meet. Since the recruitment was made public, many of them have already started visiting offices to obtain the necessary documents that will enable them sit for the competitive examination.
Talking to journalists in Yaounde, MbargaNguele said measures have been taken to ensure massive participation in the examination with the intention of curbing unemployment in the country. He announced the recruitment of 3000 police constables, 75 of whom are drivers and 25 musicians.
1000 Inspectors comprising 240 technicians and medical officers and about 700 assistant Superintendents and Superintendents of police will also be recruited. The delegate said the recent decision increasing the age limit for those competing for the examination by three years is to ensure massive participation. Thus the age limit for candidates sitting for assistant Superintendents and Superintendents is now set at 17-30 years, Inspectors 17-28 years and Constables 17-28 years.
In order to guard against overcrowding during registration, the process has been computerised and after registering online, each candidate is given a code number. The code number instead of the candidate’s name will be used until the result are published and is intended to check bribery and corruption.
While insisting that only the best will be recruited, Nguele advised potential candidates and parents to decease from seeking for networks to help them succeed  at all cost because there will be no corruption in the process.
Details about the examination with the deadline set for Feb. 06, 2015 are obtainable on the website www.dgsn.cm or www.dgsn-cm.org/concours 2014.
