BODA raises 4.1MFCA for development projects

The Bobong Development Association, BODA, grouping sons and daughters of Bobong village in Njinikom subdivision in and out of Cameroon has raised over 4MFCA with main target being the construction of two classrooms at the newly created Government Bilingual Primary School Bobong come 2015. The sum was raised during the 22nd fund raising congress of BODA on Friday 26th December 2014.
The president general of BODA Ncham George who presented the stakes surrounding development in Bobong village at the start of the congress appreciated the people of Bobong for their total commitment to contribute to the success of every project that is undertaken in the village. He describedtheir commitment to development as being love for village and self.
Bobong remains one of the villages in Boyo where even the very young ones at birth know the value of self-reliant development.Pulling out from the then Njinikom Area Development Association ,NADA,  in 1992 to form BODA was not a smooth ride for the Bobong people as this met with a lot of stiff resistance but it as a risk worth taking and the results today are glaring.
A giant multipurpose hall and water project to supply the community, construction of culverts, planting of ornamental trees to curb the adverse effects of climate change and to prevent water from drying off, putting in place of a farmer’s house with input to serve farmers, provision of scholarships to some underprivileged Bobong childrencosting hundreds of millions are some of the major realisations BODA can show for in 22 years
Despite these numerous achievements, BODA”s president general said there are still so many challenges staring the organisation in the face. They have to raise funds to construct two classrooms at the newly created GTC Bobong, many parts of the village are still begging for electrification, the water project still has to be extended to some parts of the community, and the population’s expressed need for a cold store among others.
These endeavours of the Bobong population towards self-reliant development were hailed by Mayor Terence Chah Bam of the Njinikom council who pledged the council’s contribution of ten benches once the classrooms are raised to enable the pupils study comfortably. He also used the opportunity to appeal to the entire population of Njinikom to emulate the example of Bobong and to keep aside politics and hatred when it comes to development.
Mr. Bontanj Justin D.O for Njinikom who was around to chair the fund raising expressed satisfaction with what he saw and encouraged the actions of the Bobong people adding that government was going to accompany their efforts in realising meaningful development to better the lives of the population.
