ATUILAH DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION(A.D.A )CONGRESS 2014-NDIM GEORGE REKINDLES HOPE
Atuilah quarter in
Njinikom sub division noted for its boisterous nature, high concentration of
elite, its vocal and out spoken people in the recent past have seen its
development stagnating, fluctuating and prostituting from one Executive to the
other with little to write home about. Every end of year, sons and daughters of
Atuilah Quarter under the umbrella of Atuilah Development Association (ADA)
returns home to raise funds for developmental projects in the Quarter. For
decades now, mismanagement of funds, outright embezzlement and the bossy nature
of some of it’s over zealous elected officials greatly down played on the
development of the quarter with the existence of no quarter hall, library,
extension of electricity, water supply and
a scholarship scheme to encourage the young are factors still
starring ADA to the face.
Year in and out,
funds are raised with the prime aim of supplying water to most homes, but such
efforts have been plaguedwith bad fate for over 5years.The saga of how the
first pipe bone water supply saw ADA with the assistance of Plan Cameroon
extending water to most homes that was ready for use only in the rainy season
for it was the waste pipe of the water tank of St Martin De pores hospital ,
continue to resonate as the whole thing was abandoned and now it is reduced to
a caricature of the first order. Recently C.D.E water was brought in to the
quarter with ADA funds just for the population to be told without prior
mobilization that they were to pay for its consumption with intermittentsupply.
Locals have pointed accusation fingers expressing deep discontent with the
national treasurer who they say have been reported for vehemently refusing to
sign out money each time a developmental project is highlighted. Recently,
abandoned pipe lines all over the neighborhood were testimony of such
allegations.
FUTURE OF A.D.A
The recent transition
of power at the national, regional and even the home branch executives with
Ndim George taking over from Fang Hyronimus,a vibrant Yaoundé branch, the
rejuvenated Bamenda branch, the much mobilized and organized home branch, the
recently created Kumba branch, are all pointers that there appears to be hope
for ADA.The home branch has a vibrant and much mobilised youth thanks to
Nkwainjude, and other executives in the likesof Bobe John Mbah Senior,NdongCanesius
and Kang Henry just like the Bamenda branch with a temporal exco led by BobeNgongNsom
Joseph,2014 could just be another year for fate to decide through with hope come Dec 27th
