DREAM REFORMATION CHECKS POVERTY WITHIN THE HOME
OMO TABLETS AWAITING TRANSFORMATION |
Dream
Reformation Association Cameroon, a not for profit making
organization in Bamenda has economically empowered some 150 women in the region
with knowledge on Omo production, a liquid and solid detergent that plays an
important role in home cleaning, in and out laundry of all categories. This
follows a one month project that saw Dream reformation team and volunteers
training women groups in Bamenda,Ndonga-Mantung and Boyo divisions last April.
According to the director of dream reformation, Jam
Divine Chiafikeh, empowering a woman with skills and knowledge on how to
generate income independently can sustain homes and bring about financial
independence to many women, especially those in the divisions who depend daily
on stipends from their husbands for their upkeep and in running the home.”we
decided to embark on this giant project to train women in the production of Omo
because through focused group discursions and a survey our research team
conducted,we found out that Omo,a sanitary detergent is mostly demanded by
women at home. They need it to clean their dresses, that of their children,
husbands and relatives. They need Omo to mop the house and to clean the
toilet. If they are given knowledge and practical experience on how to produce
this product, you will see that back in their various quarters, they shall be
able t provide this commodity at home, sell some and make money and gradually,
you will see that you have given them financial independence and
financialviability. We at Dream Reformation have been able to achieve this
thanks to financial support from friends and The Missy Miss BK Foundation.”
said Divine.

Theone month project saw the training of some 90
women drawn from the Wimbum women’s group, 50 women from the Njinikom dynamic
woman’s group and 30 in Banjah.
Quizzed on why the choice of women, Jam Divine
Chiafikeh, director of Dream Reformation say the women needs it most”if you look
in the society, especially facing the realities of the northwest region, women
are most interested in agrarian activities. We have homes where women place the
exclusive role of a house wife. Many still have to ask for 100Frs from their husbands
to be able t clean plate in a daily routine. So by training them on something
productive and financially uplifting was ideal” said the director.
“Apart from this project,Dream Reformation has
carried out a series of projects. At the close of last year ushering in the
2017 year, we succeeded to break bread with a good number of elderly people in
Boyo in a project titled Christmas and new year for all. This gave comfort to
most homes that could not afford for a cubeof soap, a cup of rice and other
essentials to celebrate. We are currently shooting a video album of an Orphan
name Jeo legend. We are working with movie production houses like Action Waves
Entertainment to make sure many young stars achieve their various dreams of
becoming actors. We have been supporting innovations and talents.
According to theDirector ofDream Reformation,Jam Divine
Chiafikeh ,come July-October 2017 they organization shall be receiving her
volunteers from Germany and Estonia and for the three months in Cameron, they
shall rehears and mount sketches at major road junctions within the city of
Bamenda and its environs. We shall also be coming up with an Inter-Orphanage
competition that shall see orphans in Bamenda given the opportunity to
participate in sporting activities and talents exposure like every other child.
Dream reformation is a not for profit making
organization based in Bamenda, Cameron which is out to develop talents and
creativity in young people. It has as mission, community development and
provision of business startup support to every Cameroonian with skills. We
believe that there exist many young people with skills out there that need
support
