IRIN NJUAKOM SMILES WITH THE BENEFICIARY |
A
torch is an electronic device that helps show the way to the holder at night
and in times of blackouts. At times it used by an individual or by a group. In
desperate situation when in dire need for someone to lead or point the torch and show direction in times
of poverty, despair, malnutrition and deep rooted emotional debasement, a move
in the same vain becomes much more welcoming. Irin Njuakom has found her way
into the hearts of the many peasant families in Njinikom simply by her charity
works. Year in and out, every December is a special month for the poor. It’s a
special month, not because of several marriages and feast; it’s because of
IRINA charity day. This year the number hit thousands.

VOLUNTEERS ASSIST IN DRESSING THE KIDS |
History
has repeated itself in Njinikom sub division. Some 1000 children selected from
poor homes and from single parent homes have been comforted and reminded to be
optimistic in their actions and aspirations. This was December 18 2016 in
Njinikom during the annual charity day organized by the American based Irin Njuakom.
The event Dec 18 which was in its 4th edition is a day set aside by
Irin Njuakom to do charitable works as part of her enlarged moral obligation to
give back her society, a practice she has taken as an annual obligation to
torch many destitute homes and needy persons within the Njinikom valley with
prospects to include the entire Division. Exactly 7days to Christmas, the
selected children selected from all age groups, accompanied by their guardians
and parents were provided for free clothing like shirts, track suits, pants
coatsand sucks.
They came hungry, disillusioned, malnourished,
abandoned and in want of solace. They came from all over Njinikom and parts of Belo.
their expectations were the same, to meet the woman who have decided to point
the metaphorical torch in their lives by making them dress like other children
who can afford better clothing, feeding and enjoy family comfort. According to
the main organizer of the event, Irin Njuakom her decision to engage in
charitable actions every December 18wich is her birthday is in line with her
Biblical dictums. ”the bible says whatever you do to the least of my brothers,
you do unto me. i believe much in this
biblical verse because I think that God gave me what I have and it shall be
total greed not to give back to the people. I want to share with the orphans, the
vulnerable and the needy s long as they are not as fortunate as me. i have made
it annual because I’m in Cameroon once in a year. If I’m importuned to be in
Cameron twice a year, I shall make it bi-annual” she said.

YANGSI TITUS-IRINA CHARITY MANAGER-MAKING SURE ALL KIDS HAVE ARRIVED |
Described as a
laudable initiative worth emulating, Titus Yangsi, the manager of the project
says it feels good participating in the project.”last year we extended the
selection of the children to Belo but this year, we had to make several trips
to and fro because of a geometric increase in the number.im satisfied” he said.
quizzed on the choice of material things other than cash donations, Irin
Njuakom says material gifts has a heavier impact.”I do not give only material
things to them. i also give them financial assistance by paying school fes and
medical bills think that cash does not motivates. Material gifts give a sense
of satisfaction. Money in their hands in December will motivate them to go
drinking. Protein food shall go a long way to help the whole family and with
soap, they can do their laundry hope they learn from my gesture want to inspire
them and I strongly believe their lives shall leap frog and I shall be happy” said
Irin.
According to jude
waindim Nsom, secretary general of the Bamenda City council who lived the event
in Njinikom ,he described IRINs actions as Selfless giving back to society at
the least occasion, including their birthday and Quite philanthropic in vision.
