NATIONNAL POLYTECHNIC BAMENADA SENDS OUT 2OOO LAURETES-CELEBRATES AFILIATIONS.

GRANDAUNTS AT THE N.PB 5TH CONVOCATION |
National
polytechnic Bamenda has graduated some 2000 students at the higher National Diploma
(HND) and Bachelor of Technology levels. The certificates were conferred on the
laureates by the VCs of the affiliated universities and National Polytechnic
officials Saturday March 28 at the Amphitheatre 1000 of the institution.
The
student’s haven completed a two and three years course in the HND and degree
levels respectively at the NPBs nine schools of business, finance and
management, engineering and technology, maritime, Home economics, tourism and
hospitality and management, journalism and media, medical and biomedical sciences, law, education and
agriculture and vertinery sciences, were all awarded certificates at HND and
degrees.
Addressing
the academic family that turned out Marched 28th for the 5th
convocation of NPB was Michael yuh Ayeah. Representing the governing council of
the Yong Educational Establishments (YEE), Michael yuh appreciated the efforts
of all mentoring universities of Buea, Dschang and of recent University of Bamenda
describing such a collective effort as a timely gesture to give Cameroonians a
sound education.”I call on all of you laureates of NPB today to take your HND
and degrees as a steeping stone in the pursuit of your academic pursuit in an
era of competitiveness” he added.
In
his convocation address, the rector of the institution, Dr Asongwe Taboh
saluted the fruitful partnership with the Universities Of Buea, Dschang and
Bamenda and announced the effective realisation of projects envisaged by the
founder like inauguration of a food technology and hospitality laboratory,
libraries, the putting in place of a Mesume, modern administrative blog and the
envisaging of a medical school.”Considering these achievements and those in the
pipeline, NPB needs the unflinching support of our mentoring universities now
more than ever” intimated the rector. To the graduating students, the rector enjoined
the laureates to see their graduation from NPB as a modest beginning in their
academic journey and to enter the job market with open mines and with the
alertness of learning new things.
Chaired
by the secretary general at the NW governors office, Mono Absalum Wulua,The
vice chancellors of the University of Buea, Professor Nalova Pouline Egbe who
was much favoured at the convocation ceremony for her important role in
engaging partnership with her
university, that of the university of Bamenda, professor Tafah Edukad Edward
and the representative of the rector of the university of Dschang, all
congratulated the students and staff of NPB on their brilliant performance and
convoked the laureates to take the next step, define their goals in life, shun
individualism and not to pile their certificates but put them into judicious
use and contribute their quota to nation building just like the founder of the
institution, the late Pa Yong Francis.
In
his academic discuss, the mayor of kumbo council, Donatus Njong belaboured on
the decentralisation process in Cameroon, dissecting how if a reality, through
councils, young graduates can be of potential use to the councils and the
community.
In
his valedictory speech, Francis Mbah Foh,2015 best graduating student scoring a
grade point average(GPA) of 3.60,speaking on behalf of the grandaunts showered
praise and appreciation to the authorities that be for giving them the
opportunity to study at NPB. Clotilda Mankah Ngwa, Victory Diangha, graduting
as journalist and a banker pledge their total commitment in the job openings
that waits them in the job market.
Immediately
after the conferment of the certificates on the laureates, thousands of
relatives, friends and visitors stormed the ceremonial ground with bouquets of
flours stimulating a wave of fanfare and conviviality that verberated to the
nukes and carnies and night clubs of
Bamenda.
