ONE YEAR AFTER HIS DEMISE-BAMENDA STILL MISS PA YONG FRANCIS

late:BOBE YONG FRANCIS

Thirtieth Dec 2014 will mark exactly one year after the passing on to eternity of the man the kom people home and abroad and the entire North West region described as the president of the NWR of Cameroon. His glorious exit on Dec 30 2013 was described as the fall of a towering colossus, the fall of the baobab and as irreplaceablefor several epochs. One year after his death, thekomfondom,Bamenda and the entire NWR still miss Pa in several aspects:
In sports, supporters of Yong sports Academy (YOSA) in the last football season in Cameroon rhetoricallyquestioned the departure of Pa Yong, especially as the professional prowess of YOSA was put to test. The lone municipal stadium still makes the scare of Pa Yong’s departure fresh. Over grown weeds, erodedpitch, rusted and collapsed security wires and the miss management of tons of reserved sand meant for the refilling of the pitch have continually made spectators and fans of YOSA to miss the dynamic Pa Yong Francis who could have reverse the situation at a wink.
As amagnetic field in the domain of culture promotion, the vacuum of his departure is still to befilled. It was a tradition that every Dec 12,the entire kom community will pool at the esplanade of the famous P.C.H.S campus on his invitation to eat, drink ,dance and make merry in pump and style that reflects a people with a cultural identity. One year gone, KOCUDA and cultural groups in Bamenda shall continue to miss Pa Yong Francis in this aspect.
The educational family still misses him as one man who has made the NWR to be named the academic city of Cameroon. From his native Elemighong to C.H.S Bambui,N.P.B,YOSA center and the gigantic P.C.H.S,staff and students will never be opportune to see Pa make his routine rounds of inspections and the opening and closing speeches at the start and close of each academic year.
The Roman catholic church especially the ST Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral and its Christians still miss one of theirs who sat with his family every Sunday in church and worshiped together like one Christian family.Even his philanthropic gestures to apostolic groups in the church like C.W.A,C.M.A,The red cross and the mass servers group will make spontaneous tears to flow down their eyes with the wish that had it been Pa Yong was alive.
The inmates and administration of the Bamenda central prison shall miss Pa Yong Francis the most. Through routine visits and his numerous donations in kind and cash to the prison and the institutionalization of  Pa Yong’s tournament in the prison, he was one man who reminded the prisoners that though as a people without basic rights, the prisoners were still Cameroonian citizens who deserved to be loved and catered for. One year down after his demise, certainly the prison administration and inmates will certainly smash their teeth at such a great loss.
